Product Overview
Tag | His |
Host Species | RSV |
Accession | P27022 |
Synonym | RSV Glycoprotein_G, |
Background | Respiratory syncytial virus G protein is a protein produced by respiratory syncytial virus. It has been proposed as a target for a vaccine. RSV is an enveloped, negative-sense single-stranded RNA virus that belongs to the Pneumoviridae family. RSV virions have three proteins on the surface: the aforementioned F glycoprotein, the attachment glycoprotein (G), and the small hydrophobic protein. Full-length RSV G is a type II membrane protein with 30-40 O-linked glycans and 3-5 N-linked glycans that contribute ~60% of the glycoprotein's molecular weight. RSV G is a major target of the humoral immune response, and antibodies that target the central conserved region of G have been shown to neutralize both subtypes of RSV and to protect against severe RSV disease in animal models |
Description | The glycoprotein G extracellular domain (Asn 66-Arg297) of human respiratory syncytial virus A (93% homologous with strain rsb1734) (P27022-1) was produced in HEK293 cells and fused with a C-terminal His tag. |
Source | HEK293 |
Predicted N Terminal | Asn 66 |
AA Sequence | Asn 66-Arg297 |
Molecular Weight | The secreted recombinant human RSV-G comprises 242 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 26.3 kDa. As a result of highly glycosylation, the apparent molecular mass of RSV protein G is approximately 60-90 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. |
Purity | >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE |
Endotoxin | < 1.0 EU per μg of the RSV G protein as determined by the LAL method |
Formulation | This product was lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4 |
Stability | Recombinant RSV G antigens are stable for up to 1 year from date of receipt at -80°C |
Applications | ELISA; immunogen; WB, etc. |
Usage | For Research Use Only |
Storage | Store RSV-G protein under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
