Background | CD40belongs to the TNF-receptor super family. CD40 has been found to be vital in mediatinga wide range of immune and inflammatory responses including T cell-dependentimmunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal centerformation. AT-hook transcription factor AKNA is accounted to coordinately regulate theexpression of CD40 and its ligand, which is significant for homotypic cell interactions. Adaptorprotein TNFR2 interacts with CD40 and functions as a mediator of the signal transduction. The interaction of CD40 and its ligand is found to be essential foramyloid-beta-induced microglialactivation, and therefore is considered to be an early event in Alzheimerdisease pathogenesis. |
Description | CD40 Human Recombinant expressed in E.Coli is a single,non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 196a.a. (21-193a.a) andhaving a molecular weight of 21.6kDa.CD40 is fused to a 23a.a. His-tag at N-terminusand purified by unique purification methods. |
