Host Species | Human |
Synonym | AHUS2, MCP, MIC10, TLX, TRA2.10, Membrane cofactor protein, Trophoblast leukocyte common antigen, CD46. |
Background | Membrane cofactor protein isoform 14 (CD46), is a type I membrane protein which has cofactor activity for inactivation of complement components C3b and C4b by serum factor I. This function resides in the complement control protein repeats (CCPs), with CCP1-4 vital for regulation. CD46 is also involved in the fusion of the spermatozoa with the oocyte during fertilization. CD46 is common in thymocytes, T cells, B cells, monocytes, granulocytes, NK cells, platelets, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, placenta and sperm. |
Description | CD46 Human Recombinant expressed in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 268a.a. (35-313 a.a.) and having a molecular weight of 32.5kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 40-57kDa).CD46 is fused to 6a.a. His-Tag at C-terminus and purified by unique purification methods. |
