Product Overview
Tag | His |
Host Species | Human |
Accession | P40200 |
Synonym | CD96 antigen |
Background | CD96 (Cluster of Differentiation 96) or Tactile (T cell activation, increased late expression) is a receptor expressed on T cells and NK cells, and shares sequence similarity with CD226 (also known as DNAM-1). The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a type I membrane protein. The protein may play a role in the adhesion of activated T and NK cells to their target cells during the late phase of the immune response. It may also function in antigen presentation[citation needed]. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. CD96 is a transmembrane glycoprotein that has three extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains and is expressed by all resting human and mouse NK cells. CD96 main ligand is CD155. CD 96 has approximately 20% homology with CD226 and competed for binding to CD155 with CD226. |
Description | A DNA sequence encoding the human CD96 isoform 2 (P40200-2) extracellular domain (Met 1-Met 503) was produced, with a His tag at the C-terminus. |
Source | HEK293 |
Predicted N Terminal | Val 22 |
AA Sequence | Met 1-Met 503 |
Molecular Weight | The recombinant human CD96 consists of 493 amino acids and predictes a molecular mass of 55 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, the apparent molecular mass of rh CD96 is approximately 120-130 kDa due to high glycosylation. |
Purity | Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE |
Endotoxin | < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method |
Bioactivity | 1. Measured by its ability to bind recombinant mouse PVR in a functional ELISA.2. Measured by its ability to bind recombinant Human CD155 in a functional ELISA. |
Formulation | Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4 |
Stability | Recombinnat Proteins are stable for up to 1 year from date of receipt at -70°C |
