Storage | 1. Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. 2. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. 3. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week. 4. In general, protein in liquid form is stable for up to 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. Protein in lyophilized powder form is stable for up to 12 months at -20°C/-80°C. |
Notes | Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week. |
Target Details
Target Function | Hydrolase that metabolizes extracellular nucleotides, including ATP, GTP, UTP and CTP. Limits mast cell and basophil responses during inflammation and during the chronic phases of allergic responses by eliminating the extracellular ATP that functions as signaling molecule and activates basophils and mast cells and induces the release of inflammatory cytokines. Metabolizes extracellular ATP in the lumen of the small intestine, and thereby prevents ATP-induced apoptosis of intestinal plasmacytoid dendritic cells. Has also alkaline phosphodiesterase activity. |
Subcellular Location | Cell membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Apical cell membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Secreted. |
Protein Families | Nucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase family |
Database References | |
Tissue Specificity | Detected on bile ducts in liver, and in blood serum (at protein level). Detected in prostate and uterus. Detected on basophils, but not neutrophils. |
