Background | CD40 belongs to the TNF-receptor super family. CD40 has been found to be vital in mediatinga wide range of immune and inflammatory responses including T cell-dependentimmunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal centerformation. AT-hook transcription factor AKNA is accounted to coordinately regulate theexpression of CD40 and its ligand, which is significant for homotypic cell interactions. Adaptorprotein TNFR2 interacts with CD40 and functions as a mediator of the signal transduction. The interaction of CD40 and its ligand is found to be essential foramyloid-beta-induced microglialactivation, and therefore is considered to be an early event in Alzheimerdisease pathogenesis. |
Description | A DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain of mouse CD40 isoform 1 (P27512-1) (Met 1-Arg 193) was fused with the C-terminal His-tagged Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus. |
Source | HEK293 |
