Synonym | Cytotoxic T-lymphocyteprotein 4, Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4, CTLA-4, CD152, Ctla4,Cd152. |
Background | CTLA-4 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and encodes a protein which transmits an inhibitory signal to T cells. The protein contains a V domain, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic tail. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. The membrane-bound isoform functions as a homodimer interconnected by a disulfide bond, while the soluble isoform functions as a monomer. Mutations in this gene have been associated with ins.-dependent diabetes mellitus, Graves disease, Hashimoto thyroiditis, celiac disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, thyroid-associated orbitopathy, and other autoimmune diseases. |
Description | CTLA4 Mouse Recombinant expressed in Sf9 Insect cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 363a.a. (38-161a.a.) and having a molecular weight of 40.6kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 40-57kDa).CTLA4 is fused to a 239a.a. hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus and purified by unique purification methods. |
