Product Overview
Tag | His |
Host Species | Human |
Accession | Q86WA6 |
Synonym | BPH-RP, MCNAA, VACVASE |
Background | BPHL is a member of the serine protease family. BPHL is expressed large quantities in liver and kidney and in minor quantities in heart, intestine and skeletal muscle. BPHL is a specific alpha-amino acid ester hydrolase that prefers small, hydrophobic, and aromatic side chains and does not have a stringent requirement for the leaving group other than preferring a primary alcohol. It catalyzes the hydrolytic activation of amino acid ester prodrugs of nucleoside analogs such as valacyclovir and valganciclovir. BPHL also activates valacyclovir to acyclovir. It may play a role in detoxification processes. |
Description | A DNA sequence encoding the mature form of human BPHL (Q86WA6-1) (Ser38-Gln291) was expressed with a His tag at the N-terminus. |
Source | E.coli |
Predicted N Terminal | His |
AA Sequence | Ser38-Gln291 |
Molecular Weight | The recombinant human BPHL consists of 268 a.a. and predicts a molecular mass of 30.7 KDa. It migrates as an approximately 31 KDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. |
Purity | >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE |
Endotoxin | Please contact us for more information. |
Bioactivity | Please contact us for detailed information |
Formulation | Lyophilized from sterile 20mM Tris, 50mM NaCl, 10% glycerol, pH 8.0. |
Stability | The recombinant proteins are stable for up to 1 year from date of receipt at -70°C. |
Usage | For Research Use Only |
Storage | Store the protein under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
