Background | Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 3F, alsoknown as EIF3F belongs to the eIF-3 subunit F family. EIF3F is a component ofthe eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF-3) complex, which is essential for several steps in the initiation of proteinsynthesis. The eIF-3 complex associates with the 40S ribosome andfacilitates the recruitment of eIF-1, eIF-1A, eIF 2: GTP: methionyl-tRNAi andeIF-5 to form the 43S preinitiation complex (43S PIC). Inaddition, the eIF-3 complex stimulates mRNA recruitment to the 43S PIC andscanning of the mRNA for AUG recognition. TheeIF-3 complex is also necessary for disassembly and recycling of posttermination ribosomal complexes and subsequently preventspremature union of the 40S and 60S ribosomal subunits prior to initiation. Among the diseases associated with EIF3F are intrahepaticcholangiocarcinoma, and cholangiocarcinoma. |
Description | EIF3F Human Recombinant expressed in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 380a.a. (1-357 a.a) and having a molecular weight of 40kDa. EIF3F is fused to a 23a.a. His-tag at N-terminus and purified by unique purification methods. |
