Background | Homo sapiens suppressor of variegation 3-9 homolog 2 (SUV39H2) is encoded by the SUV39H2 gene and belongs to the histone-lysine methyltransferase family and Suvar3-9 subfamily, It contains an N-terminal chromodomain and a C-terminal SET domain. It trimethylates lysine 9 of histone H3, creating a binding site for the chromo domain of HP1 for epigenetic transcriptional repression. Deregulation of SUV39H2 interferes with mammalian higher-order chromatin organization. |
Description | Recombinant full-length human SUV39H2 (KMT1B) was produced by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells, fused with a GST tag at N-terminus. This protein is purified with our unique purification methods. |
