Background | Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 E1 (UBE2E1) belongs to the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. It accepts ubiquitin activated by the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to short-lived and abnormal proteins, and mediates their selective degradation. It was also found to be responsible for 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitination in vitro. |
